Our new community wind turbine - the Nordtank
BDCR's latest project is to replace an existing non-operational wind turbine on Mynydd Glandulas, the hill above the Centre for Alternative Technology using finance raised by a share offer. £175,500 of shares were available to individuals. Using European funding secured through Mid Wales Energy Agency and Ecodyfi, we bought a second hand Nordtank NTK500/37( 500KW) wind turbine which is now standing on Mynydd Glandulas. Following more delays than we ever thought possible (in large part due to issues with the grid connection) Tim is doing final commissioning after which it will be generating.
