Bro Dyfi Community Renewables

Bro Dyfi Community Renewables is a community energy co-operative registered under the Industrial and Provident Societies Acts. We were established in 2001 to develop community-owned renewable energy projects.

Our first community owned wind turbine has been running since 2003, using money raised from a share offer.

2008 annual accounts are available here. The AGM covering activities during 2008 was held on 24th October 2009 at Pantperthog Village Hall. The chairs report is available here. The presentation of the accounts is here. The presentation of the V17 performance is here. Progress report on the Nordtank is here.

BDCR's latest project is to install a 500kW wind turbine on Mynydd Glandulas, the hill above the Centre for Alternative Technology.Check out the photo diary of construction progress here.

If you are interested in buying or selling shares, please contact us here. We cannot sell you the shares ourselves, but we can put you in touch with current members wishing to sell theirs, or people wishing to buy yours. We have members with shares available for sale at the moment.

Latest news
We are now selling our electricity output from the 75kW wind turbine to Good Energy, the 100% green electricity supplier. A power purchase agreement  (PPA) has been signed that brings us over £100 per MW hr generated, which should we hope in turn improve dividends to shareholders. You can now see live generation figures for this turbine here

Update on the Nordtank 500kW: the new switchgear and cabin are in place. We are doing a bit of work on the cabin doors to ensure that they are completely watertight. When this process is complete, we get a meter installed, the grid connection gets turned on, the turbine commissioning checks happen... and then we're generating.
